Hence, a large experiment was conducted at Stanford University regarding this subject which is now presented in the form of a documentary. This American documentary series was released on 1st January 2024 which explores diets. The official synopsis of the series reads “Identical twins change their diets and lifestyles for eight weeks in a unique scientific experiment designed to explore how certain foods impact the body.

It is a four-part docuseries that follows 4 sets of identical twins who participated in a food experiment conducted by Stanford University. It was an 8-week experiment in which the identical twins were put on completely different opposite diets and the doctor monitored their progress.

The nutrition scientist Christopher Gardner lays out the parameters for the 4 sets of twins. In this experiment, one twin was put on a vegan diet whereas the other twin was put on an omnivore diet. During the initial 4 weeks of the study, participants got meals to eat but for the rest of the 4 weeks, participants had to follow their respective diets on their own.
